Remembrance Day 13th November 2011 President David accompanied by Sonia and the Presidents of Windsor St George (Gaby Gaut) and Inner Wheel (Beryl Warman) laid wreaths on behalf of their Clubs at the town's war memorial. |

Evening Meeting 31st October 2011 Rotarian Adrian Stabbins and his wife Veronica gave their talk to the evening meeting of the Club about the “End Polio Now” campaign. Last year Adrian & Veronica joined a team of U.K. and local Rotarians in Lucknow, India to assist in giving polio vaccine to young children. Their presentation highlighted the success of the polio eradication programme in Northern India. Adrian & Veronica will be returning to Delhi next week for National Immunisation Day on 13th November. |

Meeting October 10th 2011 Abi Lewis was inducted into Club last Monday at the Mercure Castle Hotel. She is a solicitor with Charles Coleman. She specialises in wills, probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney. She was at educated at Brigidine School, university in Bristol and after training as a solicitor in Bristol qualified in 2008 when she joined Charles Coleman. The talk was about the Rotary Project Emergency Shelter Boxes scheme used throughout the world e.g. 40,000 boxes went to Haiti. |

Rotary Foundation Talk 21st August 2011 Last Monday the talk given to the Club was about Rotary's own charity The Rotary Foundation. the largest Private Charity in the World. Adrian & Veronica Stabbins - Vice President and his lady will be going to India to attend a polio eradication event in November. Another £3500 is required to be raised by the Club before July 2012 to help continue this important programme. Picture shows the President & District Foundation Chairman David Caswell. |

Talk by Caroline Wagstaff - 8th August 2011 Caroline Wagstaff local author of WINDSOR – Fun, Facts, History & Legend came to talk to the Club about another ‘string to her bow’ on Monday l. Caroline talked about ‘Surviving the Dragons’ Den’ following her appearance on the second series of the show back in 2005. Caroline shared some of the insider information on how the show is put together with the club and delivered a highly entertaining and thought provoking session’ commented President David. |

Two inductions - 8th August 2011 President David continues his flying start to the year with the induction on 1st August 2011 of Tony Monk - Architect and President of Windsor Cricket Club, and Adrian Benge the Queen's saddle maker and leather upholsterer on 5th September 2011 |

Rotary Meeting 18th July 2011 Spencer Denney Centre The Club visited the Spencer Denney Centre Age Concern Windsor last Monday for their meeting, enjoying a great three course lunch provided by the centre staff. The Club members were updated about the progress of the extension to the centre being managed by Derek Bishop (Chairman of Age Concern Windsor & Eton ) and a small team of Rotarians. The meeting was completed by the induction of Bernard Hawkes. |

Rambling Rotarians on tour 13th - 15th July 2011 9 members and their wives enjoyed the best the Sussex Downs in high summer had to offer over 3 varied days of walking or sightseeing. Centred in the village of Bramber there was a mixture of different grades of walks, pub lunches and evening meals all together in the hotel. Highlights were the Downs themselves and the ever present hang gliders, the beautiful villages such as Amberley and Fulking, the Sussex Churches and the first pint at the end of each day! |

Spencer Denney 11th July 2011 The photograph shows the finishing touches being added to the newly completed garage at The Spencer Denney Workshop. Work can now begin on the alterations to the main building. The completion of the garage coincided with the Club meeting at the Centre and the induction of new member Bernard Hawkes. |  |

Handover 27th June 2011 A well attended Handover at the Mercure Castle Hotel saw Derek Bishop relinquish his chain of office in favour of David Wheeler. Also elevated were Adrian Stabbins to Senior Vice and David Burch to Junior. During the evening Paul Harris Fellowships were awarded to Catherine MacLinden for services to the The Spencer Denney Centre and Rtn. Eric Carr. The evening saw a review of Derek's year in words and a Slideshow, and a musical glimpse of David's year to come. | _115.jpg)
