| Inner Wheel
Club... |
Inner Wheel is attached to a corresponding Rotary Club
and like Rotary is international. It consists of wives,
widows, partners and other ladies connected to a
Rotarian or Inner Wheel member.
The Inner Wheel Club of Windsor & Eton was formed in
1939.
Meetings for the Club are once a month on the first
Tuesday (except August), and are held at lunch time at
The Manor Hotel Datchet 12 noon
for 12.30pm. The President for 2009 - 2010 is Mrs
Colleen Garrett
The organisation's motto is Friendship and Service
and although not primarily a fund raising organisation
does raise monies for charities at home and overseas,
which vary each year.
-
Membership does
not depend on strict attendance at meetings.
-
Members support
Rotarians at charity events as and when required.
-
Various social
functions are held during the year to which husbands
etc., are invited.

Inner Wheel President Colleen Garrett's main charities
this year are the Jubilee Sailing Trust and Marie Curie
Cancer Care. To start the year off our first speaker
was Duncan Ropley who gave an excellent presentation
about the Jubilee Sailing Trust. This is a charity
established to provide the adventure and experience of
tall ships sailing regardless of the individual's
physical disability.'
To the right is
a photo of Colleen presenting a cheque for our first
contribution to Duncan Ropley. |
